Coral Reefs and Temperature Coral reefs are built by tiny animals called polyps, which live in partnership with microscopic algae. The algae photosynthesize inside the coral's tissue, supplying most of the coral's food and giving the reef its colour. This relationship is highly sensitive to temperature. When seawater becomes too warm for too long, the coral expels the algae in a process called bleaching, turning white and losing its main food source. A brief warming event may be survivable, but prolonged or repeated bleaching often kills the coral. Because reefs support roughly a quarter of all marine species, their decline threatens far more than the corals themselves.Câu 1Reading · Vocabulary0,85 điểmThe word "expels" is closest in meaning to ___.

The Spread of Printing The printing press did not, on its own, create the explosion of books that followed its invention. Several conditions had to align. Cheap paper, recently introduced to Europe, replaced expensive parchment and made mass production affordable. A growing merchant class created demand for practical texts in everyday languages rather than Latin. And the press itself relied on metal movable type that could be reused, dramatically lowering the cost of each additional copy. Historians therefore caution against treating any single invention as the sole cause of a social change; technologies tend to spread only when economic and cultural conditions are ready to receive them.Câu 2Reading · Main idea0,85 điểmWhat is the main point of the passage?
